Introducing Robin Webb, our new Chief Executive Officer...
I’m delighted to have been appointed as the new Chief Executive for Isabel Hospice and have had an interesting few weeks meeting the teams, visiting our shops and getting to know the volunteers.
I had been Chief Executive of St Luke’s Hospice, which serves the London Boroughs of Harrow and Brent, for 3 years and we had a lot of exciting work going on, so I had not been looking for a new job! But Isabel has it’s In-Patient Unit and Head Office in Welwyn Garden City where I live and this is a rare opportunity to lead the Hospice that serves my local community of eastern Hertfordshire.
Several of my friends have had family members supported by Isabel and I’ve seen the impact of the amazing care and support that the Hospice provides - and I’m delighted to have joined the team as of the 20th March.
My family has lived in Welwyn Garden City for 9 years - my wife Diane is the Children and Families Worker at Christchurch, our son is in the 6th form at Monk’s Walk and our daughter is currently studying at York University
I’m a trustee of Christchurch in Welwyn Garden City and before I took on the role at St Luke’s I was Chief Executive of the YMCA in Central Hertfordshire, which served a similar area to Isabel - so I have many existing relationships with community organisations, churches and other faith groups and the borough and county councils and am looking forward to meeting up with many old colleagues and involving them in fundraising events for Isabel!
I know that the Isabel team are working hard to continue to deliver their exceptional care and support during the temporary relocation of the In Patient Unit from the QE2 site to the Hatfield Residential and Nursing Home, and I’d like to say a special thank you to all the staff and volunteers for their continued hard work and commitment, especially during this period of change.
I’m really looking forward to working further with the staff, volunteers and trustees as we explore and shape together the future for Isabel Hospice.
