Bishop’s Stortford Mayor, Cllr. Keith Warnell held his Civic Dinner recently in support of Isabel Hospice. The Civic Dinner evening saw 120 guests including the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Roger Beazley and his wife attend, alongside 15 Mayors and Chairmen from throughout Hertfordshire and Essex.
Keith said ‘It was a fabulous evening all round, and the final figure raised for Isabel Hospice is £4,330. Thanks to the generosity of those who attended and the sponsors for the evening. The total was boosted by Barclays Bank match funding the raffle and auction and by a generous donation from Genmar IT. An excellent meal was supplied by Coppice Catering who also donated a substantial auction prize as did Snap Fitness along with many other donations of prizes. Everyone enjoyed the decades band Déjà Vu with more dancing than I have seen at many a Civic Dinner! With family experience of the good work of Isabel Hospice I am happy to support the charity and bowled over by the generosity of everyone to whom I offer heartfelt thanks.’
Robin Webb, Isabel Hospice CEO said ‘We provide care and support for patients at home in Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth and hold a weekly day service at the Barnabas Centre in Thorley, which is attended by patients and their families, and supported by our specially trained volunteers and nursing staff; their dedication helps people to live well and make the most of every day. Isabel supports patients and their families across East Herts, Welwyn Hatfield and Broxbourne – we can only do this because of the fantastic support of thousands of people who raise over £3 million every year, so my thanks again to Mayor Cllr Keith Warnell for supporting us through his Civic Dinner’
