We have a vacancy for an Assistant Chaplain to work with the Spiritual Care Lead, identifying and supporting the spiritual care needs of patients and relatives in a palliative care setting. Working as part of the Multi Disciplinary Team, you will need good communication skills in order to help promote and deliver pastoral care. You should be committed to end of life care and able to work independently offering pastoral ministry in a non church setting, including Day Services, the Community and In Patient Unit. Ministry is to all faiths and none. You will also be required to assist and take part in the planning of services, including the Annual Service of Remembrance, Christmas and Easter Services.

Previous healthcare experience is required, preferably in palliative care and the ability to honour all beliefs, philosophies and faith systems. The post is open to both Lay or Ordained applicants. You should hold a theological qualification, membership of United Kingdom Board of Health Care Chaplaincy (or be working towards registration). A counselling qualification would be an advantage, car driver essential. This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
