Patients & Carers

Our patients and their carers are at the heart of everything we do

At Isabel Hospice we provide palliative care which aims to improve the quality of life for people who are living with any life-limiting illness. This may include cancer, motor neurone disease and other neurological conditions as well as end stage renal, heart or lung conditions. The aims of palliative care are to control pain and other symptoms and help patients and families to deal with emotional, spiritual or practical questions, which may arise from their illness. It is a whole person approach where the person is not defined by their illness.

We care for people at home, (this includes care homes) as well as at our In-Patient Unit.

We recognise that caring for someone with a life-limiting condition can be very hard and so we support family members, friends and carers too.

Isabel Hospice have signed up to the National Dementia Action Alliance and are part of two local groups, Welwyn Hatfield Dementia Alliance Awareness and East Herts Aging Well & Dementia Action Alliance Steering Group. Please click on the logo to find out more about our involvement.
