Bereavement, counselling & support
Our family support team offer a range of services which include arts and complementary therapies, spiritual care, children's services, social work, welfare advice and bereavement counselling. Please talk to your Clinical Nurse Specialist for further information.
We offer support to adults, young people and children through our specialist bereavement services.
The team of trained volunteers and counsellors is led by our Bereavement Services Manager, and offer 1-1 support for anyone whose relative or friend was cared for by Isabel Hospice.
In the first month of the loss family members are sent a card explaining our services, and month later they are sent a further letter inviting them to contact us if they wish for some support, and advising them we will be ringing them the following month to see how they are. The service is available for contact and reassurance. We also offer a reciprocal service for those whose relatives have died in other Hospice’s, but who live in our area.
We can offer this at our In-Patient Unit or visit at home if necessary. We also offer a weekly coffee morning for older bereaved relatives and a group for younger ones. A Benefits Advisor is available to help with any financial concerns.
