We are delighted to be ready to appoint an experienced community development worker to lead on the Compassionate Communities project. Isabel Hospice is one of 7 hospices participating in a phase two pilot of this exciting venture which will be externally evaluated with a view to national implementation. The project will receive substantial support from the originating hospice (St Joseph’s, London). The Community Development Manager will also lead on the opening of the community café in our newly extended community hub.
The successful candidate will be an ambassador for the vision of Isabel Hospice and will be required to engage with a wide range of community partners and communities and will see the project through from planning, development and deliverance through to monitoring and evaluation of the project outputs and outcomes.
To apply you will need a degree level of education or equivalent work experience with significant experience of community development. You should have experience of building partnerships with a wide range of community groups including faith groups and experience of delivering a complex project including monitoring project delivery and project expenditure against targets. You will need to be able to work autonomously and have significant experience of working with volunteers and carrying out home visits to conduct assessments with individuals. Car owner/driver essential.
