ABOUT THE COURSE
A one-day course to help participants develop an understanding of pain pathways and how to manage pain in palliative care to improve quality of life for patients.
This course compliments the “Symptom Management” study day.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
By the end of the session participants will be able to;
• Understand the key role and importance of a good assessment
• State the key principles of the management of pain in palliative care
• Have an awareness of the common drugs used
• Acknowledge the role of adjuvants in managing pain
• Understand drug conversions when the oral route is not appropriate
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is aimed at Band 5/6 staff nurses.
