Family Fun Day - Isabel Hospice

On Saturday 6th September, our Family Support team welcomed children and their families who have been supported by Isabel Hospice, to the annual Family Fun Day. They day is led by Buddhika, our Children’s Service Coordinator and Counsellor for bereaved children to have a chance to relax, have fun, and share joyful moments together and the adults too!

Throughout the day, families enjoyed a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, music-making, karaoke, face painting, a photo booth. Lunch was shared and laughter was shared and the afternoon concluded with a Disney film, a crowd pleaser for all.

One parent said, “Thank you for a lovely afternoon, wish we could have stayed longer”. Another reflected “it’s lovely to share a day with others within the Isabel Hospice family, we had a great time.” For many families, the event was an opportunity to relax, connect with people who are going through similar experiences and simply enjoy each other’s company in a supportive and caring environment.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and to our Family Support team for making the day a truly special experience, full of laughter, creativity, and treasured memories.

The Family Fun Day reflects the wider support offered by our Children’s Service, which helps children and families build resilience through significant losses. From individual counselling and therapy to therapeutic groups, mindfulness, music, and creative arts, the service provides safe, supportive spaces for children to explore and express their emotions, while also offering guidance and support for the adults who care for them.
