Our chief executive Helen Glenister was among those putting their best foot forward for a sponsored walk organised by the mayor of Hertford.
Isabel Hospice is one of two chosen charities that has been selected by Cllr Bob Deering to support during his civic year. The other is the Samaritans.
The 6.5 mile walk earlier this month commenced at Hertford Castle, heading to Hertford Football Club, Hertford Hockey Club and Hertford Cricket Club at Balls Park before taking in the Isabel Hospice shop in the town’s Maidenhead Street. It then continued to the Samaritans branch in Ware’s Star Street before passing Hertford Netball Club at Presdales and finishing at Hertford Rugby Club.
Cllr Deering said: “I am delighted to have once again completed a sponsored walk to raise funds for my two mayor’s charities. As before, we visited the Isabel Hospice shop in Hertford and the Samaritans office in Ware and our route took in several of our leading sports clubs, not least to recognise the good work they also do for the community. Thank you to everyone who has donated via the JustGiving page and on the day.”
The event has raised more than £600 and counting. You can make a donation here.
