A fashion show featuring outfits created from items donated to Isabel Hospice’s charity shops has been staged by students from Hertford Regional College.
Isabel staff and volunteers were invited to sit on the front row as students modelled their creations, which were inspired by themes including Alice in Wonderland, Sustainability in Denim and 80s skirts.
The catwalk showcase was the culmination of a collaborative project following an approach from the Hospice to the college last summer with the aim of engaging more young people in fundraising and creating awareness of the charity’s work.
All the outfits were made from upcycled unsellable clothing donations by fashion students based at the college’s Ware campus, with the show involving students on a range of other college courses, including business, marketing, construction, hair and media make up, cookery and production arts.
Isabel’s retail business manager Charlotte Greenwood said: “The group that went from Isabel Hospice were absolutely blown away by the creativity and talent on display. These incredible outfits will now be sold on our eBay shop to not only promote circular fashion and sustainability but to also fund the vital care that Isabel Hospice provides.
“Thank you to all the staff and students for putting on such a fantastic show.”
