This August, we are proud to add even more dates to our highly popular kilo clothing and bric-a-brac sales, all under one roof, in Welwyn Garden City. These events offer a unique opportunity for eco-conscious shoppers to indulge in guilt-free retail therapy while supporting a worthy cause.

The premise is simple: clothing (including men’s, women’s, children’s and a ‘curve’ collection) is sold at £7 per kilo, and bric-a-brac items are priced at just £1 each or 15 items for £12. Also including a large range of kids and adult boardgames, all checked and verified by our brilliant volunteers, perfect for the Summer holidays!
What sets these sales apart is not just the unbeatable value but also the environmental impact they make. By rescuing generously donated items, we continue to divert perfectly usable goods from ending up in landfill.
The ethos behind these events aligns perfectly with our sustainability initiative, Tonnes of Care. It is estimated that the average household throws away 8 items of clothing a year, and as a nation, 22 million items of furniture a year. Instead of discarding items that still have plenty of life left in them, we give them a second chance, extending their lifecycle and reducing the demand for new products.
But the benefits don’t stop there. By raising vital funds through these events, Isabel Hospice can continue its invaluable work providing end-of-life care and support to those in the local community, ensuring that patients and their families receive the compassionate care they deserve during challenging times.
These free to attend events are located next door to the Isabel Hospice Donation Centre, 61 Bridge Road East, Welwyn Garden City with free parking on-site.
