Isabel's festive fundraisers kick off with popular Christmas at the Manor event - Isabel Hospice

Isabel Hospice officially kicked off the first of its festive fundraising events when our Special Events Committee hosted their perennially popular Christmas at the Manor lunch and shopping extravaganza.

Almost 200 guests attended the seasonal event, held last Wednesday at the Manor of Groves Hotel in High Wych, where they enjoyed a two-course lunch with friends and the chance to browse a variety of stalls selling Christmas cards and gifts including jewellery, hats and scarves, and handbags.

One of the many highlights of the day was a pop-up shoe shop run by Hotfooted Shoes and a flower stall selling beautiful silk floral arrangements and Christmas wreaths decorated with festive lights.

Isabel Hospice life president Barbara Doherty MBE, who chairs the Special Events Committee, said: “Altogether it was a brilliant day with a happy atmosphere, once again raising much-needed funds for the vital work of Isabel Hospice.

“With thanks to all the guests who joined us this year as well as the Manor of Grove staff and Connect Scaffolding of Bishop’s Stortford for transporting all the tables for use on the day.”

Proceeds from the event are still being counted, but it is expected to have raised £8,000.

Tickets are still available for our lavish Snow Ball this Saturday at the beautiful Tewinbury Farm Hotel. Our next festive fundraiser will then be our Carols in the Chapel event at historic Haileybury College in Hertford Heath on 14th December.
