There was mud, marvellous mud, by the gallon when people of all ages took part in our Muddy Mayhem family event last weekend.
Some 600 adults and children slipped, slid and scrambled over a fun but challenging 5km obstacle course to raise thousands of pounds to support those living with a life-limiting condition, and their families.
The event at the scenic Woodhall Estate in Watton-at-Stone was jointly hosted by Isabel Hospice and Garden House Hospice Care.
Our community fundraiser Lindsay Hunter said: “We were so thrilled to collaborate with Garden House Hospice Care to deliver Muddy Mayhem as a joint event for the first time on Sunday.
“Supporters enjoyed clambering, climbing and scrambling through and over the various obstacles as they tackled our 5km run. There was also a Mini Muddy Mayhem to entertain the youngsters as well as food stalls for spectators and participants. It is fair to say they all had a mud-tastic time whilst raising vital funds for hospice care.”
The event has raised £36,000 to help both Hospices continue providing their expert, compassionate care free of charge to those who need it.
