Isabel Hospice is pleased to announce that Terry Philpott, Chair of the Board of Trustees, has agreed to extend his term as Chair, a decision unanimously supported by the Board. Terry’s extensive experience and leadership have been invaluable to the charity’s continued success.
Terry brings over 15 years of experience in the local government and charity sector, currently serving as the Town Clerk for Ware Town Council. Prior to his work in the public and charity sectors, Terry was Managing Director of an award-winning retailer, following several senior management roles at WH Smith.
Terry comments on the extension, “I am honoured to continue serving as Chair of Trustees at Isabel Hospice. It’s a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated team, especially during these challenging times. I’m deeply committed to supporting the hospice and ensuring we can continue to provide vital care and services to the community. The work we do is more important than ever, and I’m proud to play a role in guiding the charity through these difficult times.”
The Trustee Board of Isabel Hospice is composed of up to 12 Trustees who are responsible for providing oversight and governance, ensuring the charity stays true to its mission and values. The Trustees bring diverse expertise to guide the strategic direction of the hospice, focusing on key issues and offering advice to ensure sound decision-making.
Isabel Hospice CEO, Dr. Helen Glenister comments, “Hospices across the country are facing severe financial challenges, the worst we’ve seen in 20 years. Despite this, Isabel Hospice remains committed to supporting the eastern Hertfordshire community, and we couldn’t do this without the unwavering dedication of our Trustees, like Terry, who generously give their time and expertise for free. Their contributions are vital to our ability to continue offering our services at no cost to those in need. In the last year alone, 2,111 people benefited from our services, and it’s thanks to the leadership of Trustees like Terry, and of course our 600+ volunteers, that we can keep making a difference in the lives of so many.”
Isabel Hospice is grateful for Terry’s continued leadership and dedication, which have been instrumental in guiding the charity’s work and ensuring its future success.
