Isabel Hospice is pleased to announce that their Head Office and Donation Centre will be relocating next month, in February 2025. They will be moving just two minutes down the road, from 61 Bridge Road East (next door to B&Q) to 99 Bridge Road East.
Isabel Hospice, a local charity has been the cornerstone of palliative care in eastern Hertfordshire, for over 40 years, providing essential support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The selling of donated goods in shops and through ebay helps to provide some income for the charity -which has to raise £7m each year to cover the costs of services.
The charity’s Head Office has been based at their current building for over 15 years, which includes a convenient Donation Centre facility. The upcoming move represents a significant step towards improving the charity’s operational efficiency.
CEO, Dr. Helen Glenister commented on the move, “The new facility at 99 Bridge Road East is a perfect fit for us. We are now able to consolidate our Retail staff —including the warehouse, Donation Centre, and eBay operations—into a larger downstairs area. This will streamline our operations, which were previously spread across two locations”.
“This move is part of our long-term plan to consolidate three buildings into two, with all Clinical teams eventually relocating from Hall Grove to our In-Patient Unit once the planned extension is complete.”
During the transition stage, the Donation Centre will be closed for donations between Friday 31st January and Monday 10th February inclusive. The new Donation Centre at 99 Bridge Road East will open on Tuesday 11th February, 9.30am, operating a new drop off system.
Helen ends, “Please bear with us and hang on to your donations during this short period. We will gratefully accept them from Tuesday 11th February or you can donate via your local Isabel Hospice shop. We encourage you to check our website for further updates and details of how to donate going forward.”
