You can dance, you can jive at Isabel Hospice party night - Isabel Hospice

Isabel Hospice’s 40th anniversary celebrations will be getting into full swing at an ABBA party night on Saturday, June 11.

The event, being held in the Meadow Barn at Tewin Bury Farm, is one of a series that has been organised by the end-of-life care charity’s Life President Barbara Doherty MBE and the special events committee to mark the milestone anniversary.

International smash-hit tribute act Thank You for the Music will be providing the evening’s entertainment with a set combining the Swedish super group’s unmistakable harmonies and colourful costumes.

The tribute show will feature all of ABBA’s best-known dancefloor fillers including Waterloo, Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia and more. There will also be food, a silent auction and a raffle. Tickets are £75 per person.

Barbara said: “Join us for the party of the year – you can dance, you can jive, and have the time of your life celebrating our 40th anniversary!”

Isabel Hospice was founded in 1982 and over the years has provided its specialist, compassionate care free of charge to countless families in Welwyn and across eastern Hertfordshire.

Money raised on the night will help ensure it can guarantee the future of its care and support to every person who needs it.

The ABBA party night will be followed later in the year by An Evening with the Yorkshire Shepherdess hosted by writer and TV personality Amanda Owen.

Being held on Thursday, September 15, the evening promises a frank, funny and informative insight into the challenges, rewards and realities of life on the farm in rural North Yorkshire and will include a Q&A session and book signing. Tickets for the event, in the Tythe Barn at Tewin Bury Farm, are already on sale priced £35.

The special events committee will be rounding off their year-long celebrations with their ever-popular Christmas at the Manor in Sawbridgeworth on Wednesday, November 16.
