ABOUT THE COURSE
A four day course for HCA’s and support workers to gain the knowledge that underpins end of life care and consider what can be implemented to improve your patients journey at this time in their life.
COURSE DATES, 09.30 – 14.30 – ALL DATES TO BE ATTENDED
29th March, 3rd May, 7th June and 5th July
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
- End of life nutrition, continence and constipation, skin care and oral hygiene
- Importance of advance care planning including how to approach significant conversations, ReSPECT and incorporating DNACPR
- Palliative and end of life patients in the last year of life, recognising dying, last 48 hours of life and supporting patients including bereavement
- Simple ways to improve symptom management including non-pharmacological approaches
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
HCA’s and support workers who care for palliative and end of life patients particularly in the hospital, community, care home or hospice setting.
