ABOUT THE COURSE
Supporting our patient’s emotional and psychological needs is fundamental to our roles as healthcare professionals. This one-day course will allow you to reflect on your psychological skills and explore how to support someone’s psychological needs. This course combines theory alongside practical opportunities to look at how we use vital communication skills to support our patients psychologically.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
• An improved understanding in recognising emotional distress and depression
• An exploration of tools to use in supporting recognition of psychological distress
• Identify indicators that suggest someone may need specialist referral for emotional distress
• Know what services are there to support you
• Case study based learning

This course is open to all healthcare professionals. It will specifically be of interest to those who feel a need to improve their confidence in this area.
