Therapy Assistant

The Therapy Team aims to address the physical, emotional and psychological needs of our patients and their families, thereby assisting them to maintain their dignity and maximise their quality of life. The team offers physiotherapy, occupational therapy, complementary therapy and staff nurses who provide treatment and supportive programmes across the organisation.  Based at the Hall Grove community hub, the team works in close partnership with the full multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the team in delivering patient centred specialist rehabilitative palliative care and the supportive Living Well with Isabel programme. You will carry out both clinical and administrative duties as part of the therapy team.

The post is part time 19.5 hours a week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and will be based at Hall Grove with travel to our In-Patient Unit & other Living Well locations including Waltham Cross and Bishop’s Stortford.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake administrative tasks in support of the provision of services by the Living Well team
• Support quality patient centred rehabilitative palliative care at our In-Patient Unit and Community Hubs
• Assist in the planning, delivery and development of group sessions throughout the service
• To implement rehabilitation programmes eg. exercise, stretching, relaxation as prescribed by the therapists

Skills & knowledge

• Experience of working in a healthcare environment
• A basic understanding of the concept of palliative care and of the therapist’s role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively
• Car owner/driver essential
