We have just announced the launch of a new community-led project Compassionate Neighbours, aimed at tackling loneliness and isolation across eastern Hertfordshire.
People living with loneliness and isolation could often do with some extra support. The launch of this new social movement, Compassionate Neighbours can really make a difference. Compassionate Neighbours offers a group of trained volunteers who give up their time and companionship for local people struggling with social isolation.
If you, or someone you know, would like some extra support, Compassionate Neighbours can help by:
Visiting regularly
Offering companionship, emotional support and a listening ear
Helping you, or someone you know, do the things you like doing
Helping you, or someone you know, stay connected to the community as well as family and friends
Our Community Development Manager, Christine Novelli said: “We know that a lot of people can become socially isolated, and that there are people facing death and dying on their own in our communities. We also know that there is a desire in our communities to be there for one another, and Compassionate Neighbours is about unlocking and enabling this to happen.”
If you’d like to become a Compassionate Neighbour or you know somebody who you think may benefit from this service please call Christine Novelli on 07826 247258.
