Isabel Hospice have proudly announced a new Corporate Partnership with Borras Construction Ltd, launched in loving memory of their cherished colleague Nicola Orrow, who received end-of-life care from Isabel Hospice in April this year.
Each year, Borras Construction based in St Albans take on a challenging test of both mind and body to raise vital funds for a chosen charity. In 2025, to honour the memory of their colleague Nicola and support the work of Isabel Hospice, Borras Construction are aiming to raise £20,000 by cycling 100 miles from the South Coast to the North Coast of Devon over the weekend of 18th–19th October.
In early 2025, just before her 50th birthday, Nicola was diagnosed with terminal cancer. After a short stay in hospital, Nicola was moved to the Isabel Hospice Inpatient Unit where she died on 6th April 2025.
“It was a unanimous decision that this year we honour her memory by supporting the incredible Isabel Hospice, where Nicola spent her final days” says Mollie Reardon, [Office Administrator] at Borras Construction Ltd “During her time at the hospice, Nicola received outstanding care and was able to pass with dignity and in comfort, surrounded by her loved ones which has been a huge comfort.”
Jac Squire, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Isabel Hospice, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Borras Construction for choosing to partner with Isabel Hospice in Nicola’s memory. Nicola’s story and the team’s immense affection for her is truly inspiring, and we wish them the best of luck with their bike ride.”
Molly continued: “In the workplace, Nicky was more than just a colleague, she was a source of encouragement, laughter, long conversation and continues to be a total inspiration. Whether it was through her passion for the company, willingness to lend a hand, or ability to brighten every day with her infectious smile, Nicky has left a lasting impact on our team and our lives. We will all miss her more than words can express, and hope we can do Nicky and The Isabel Hospice proud across Devon. ”
