ABOUT THE COURSE
A communication skills online workshop for listening and responding to people who are worried or distressed. SAGE & THYME workshops support all clinical and non-clinical staff in using the skills needed to notice distress, listen carefully, and respond helpfully. This workshop demonstrates the communication skills required to provide person-centred support and offers a structured approach for dealing with the concerns of patients and their carers.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
- How to listen and respond to people with worries using foundation level communication skills
- A memorable structured approach for getting into and out of a conversation
- How to empower patients/carers who are worried or distressed
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This workshop is suitable for anyone working in any health and social care setting at any level, either clinical or non-clinical, who speaks to people who are upset or worried.
