Cala Homes build community spirit - Isabel Hospice

Kind-hearted staff at award-winning housebuilders, CALA Homes, have come together to raise funds for local charity, Isabel Hospice.

Staff held dress down Fridays and collected donations, with their fundraising efforts culminating in a spectacular Charity Golf Day at Dyrham Park Country Club in Barnet.

As well as hosting the golf tournament, CALA added to the fun of the day by organising a raffle and an auction to bring their grand total to an amazing £42 500. What makes this even more impressive is that it is only the latest in a series of donations made to Isabel Hospice by the housebuilding company over the last five years. Since 2015, CALA have raised over £95 000 for the charity.

Speaking at the Golf Day, Marlene Duke, a former Trustee of Isabel Hospice, shared her insights into the immense benefit to the services the Hospice provides thanks to CALA’s generous donations.

CALA Managing Director, Darren Dockerill said after the event: “I was overwhelmed with the generosity and support from our sub-contractors at our CALA Homes Golf Day. I never expected to raise such an amazing amount of money.”

Linda Cudmore, community fundraiser at Isabel Hospice, said: “This is a phenomenal donation to receive from the team at CALA Homes. I know Darren and Tracey put in so much hard work to organise their annual Charity Golf Day. Our huge thanks goes to them all and to their very generous golfing customers and clients!

“This donation could fund a Specialist Clinical Nurse for a year, enabling them to care for many patients at our In-Patient Unit. Alternatively, over 900 visits could be made to patients in the homes by our Community Nurse Specialists.”
