We are proud to announce that we are the winners of the Excellence In Customer Commitment Award!
Our nurses and Living Well therapists, as well as Hospice families who have loved ones being cared for, were joined at St Albans cathedral on Thursday 13th June by our CEO, Robin and Chair of Trustees, Rod as they attended the annual Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards as finalists in the Excellence in Customer Commitment category. We were delighted to win the award, which comes hot on the heels of last year’s wins for Community Champion and Most Inspiring Business 2018!
Sponsored by Austin’s Family Funeral Directors, the application focused on how we ensure our patients and their families have a positive experience, which is fundamental to the core of all that Isabel does. Robin said: “With end of life care, our teams only get one chance to get it right. The ripple effect of a good, or bad death, affects the patient’s family or carers for the rest of their lives. Words like the following were a core part of our application:
‘There are not enough words to convey our appreciation of the amazing care you gave our Mum. However, here are some – “outstanding, calming, understanding, supportive, empathy, selfless, warm, kind, reassuring”. Special thanks to the night nurses who allowed us to have some rest at a time we really needed it.’
He added “Thank you to all our staff and volunteers who made this award possible for the unerring commitment they give to providing the best possible care for those living with life-limiting illnesses across eastern Hertfordshire.”
